Today’s car is a 1959 Fiat 600 Multipla and is owned by Steve Toshiyuki. It is finished in a two tone combination of Mouse Grey with Pearl White Roof and a great patterned interior that just seems to fit the car. It is powered by a 22hp, 633cc (38.5 cu in) inline OHV four, with a Weber 22IM carburetor. Transferring that power to the rear wheels through 4-speed transaxle with 4.82:1 final gear ratio. Helping slow this baby down are hydraulic drum brakes all around. The front suspension is independent with coil springs and double action hydraulic shock absorbers and an anti-roll bar and in the rear are sprung swing axles with double action hydraulic shock absorbers.
The original MSRP was $1,658.00. There were 2,695,197. Fiat 600’s manufactured from 1955 to 1969 at the Mirafiori plant in Turin, Italy. The top speed was 56 mph with a 0-50 mph time of 25.3 seconds. This is a great example of a restored mini car that was manufactured during the 1950 -1960s. This car drew an instant crowd. It will do well for car shows, and Cars and Coffee events, or just cruising to the beach. Thanks for riding along. Frank
