Today’s car is a 2006 Ferrari 575 GTZ by Zagato. My friend Sandy Bettelman photographed this car at the “Ferrari Cruise-In” in collaboration with the Ferrari Club of America, Southwest Region at the Petersen Automotive Museum, located in Los Angeles,CA. This event is growing into becoming the biggest Ferrari gathering to take place on the West Coast that is surrounded in a sea of mostly Red Ferrari’s.
This all aluminum car is finished in black with a rich green soft leather interior. It is powered by a fuel injected 508 hp 5.75 liter, DOHC 65º V12 aluminum alloy engine mated to a 6-speed semi-automatic transmission with 3.90:1 rear axle. Slowing this beauty down are four-wheel disc brakes. The front and rear suspension have double wishbones with coil springs, telescopic shock absorbers with adaptive damping and anti-roll bars
The Ferrari 575 GTZ Zagatos were built from 2006 – 2008. This is one of only six Ferrari 575 Maranellos bodied by Zagato. The estimated top speed is 205 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 4 seconds. While the 575 Maranello is widely regarded as one of the best Luca di Montezemolo’s Ferraris, as it combines performance, with practicality, and reliability of modern automobiles. Coupled this with distinctive Zagato coachwork that wears the unique Z badge, makes the 575 GTZ one of the more attractive vehicles ever to be adorned with the Ferrari logo. What a beautiful rare automobile to take to Ferrari events, or grace a few Cars and Coffee events or carving some curves in the local canyons. Thank you for riding along. Frank
