Today’s car is a 1967 Aston Martin DB6. It is finished in Silver Birch Metallic with a Moon Shadow interior. The owner of this car is 00 Kevin. I saw this car at the Marina del Rey, CA Cars and Coffee that meets every Sunday. It is powered by a DOHC 243.8 cu in, 3.99 liter, in line 6 cylinder, with 3 SU HD8 carburetors, producing 282 hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a ZF 5-speed overdrive manual transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.73 to 1 rear end gear ratio. Helping slow this baby down are Girling disc brakes all around. The front suspension is A-Arms with coil springs and anti-roll bar. The rear is a live axel, trailing arms, coil springs and Watt’s linkage. The original MSRP was $15,400.00. The total number of DB6’s produced was 1,788. The maximum top speed was 150 mph with a 0 to 60 time of 7.5 seconds. DB6’s were built between 1965 – 1969.
This is a great car to bring out to Cars and Coffee. I have seen it being driven around town and I love that 00 Kevin drives and enjoys his car. Thanks for riding along. Frank
Below are a couple of before photos when Kevin bought the car.
