Today’s cars in the hood is a collection of Volkswagens that were spotted by Sandy Bettelman in front of a home in Bel Air. Thanks for sharing Sandy.
This is a nice collection one of each. Thanks for riding along. Frank
This Volkswagen is a 1958 Bug done in Black with 1960 taillights. This is the first year of the larger windshield and larger rectangular rear window. Power is supplied by a 1200 cc 1.2 L flat 4 with 36 HP.
This is a 1972 Karmann Ghia coupe done in either Willow or Sumatra Green. Power is supplied by 1600 cc 1.6L flat 4 developing 49 HP. The large square-section bumpers replaced the smooth round originals, and tail lights were enlarged in this year.
This is a 1981 Volkswagen Vanagon Westfalia camper done in Pastel White. Powered by 1970 cc 2.0 L developing 70 HP. A fact, I did not know Westfalia made campers for other vehicles other than Volkswagen. The name Vanagon was derived by combining van and station wagon.
