Todays car is a 1953 Ford Ranch Wagon done in a custom mixed Turquoise with a white top. I saw this Ranch Wagon at Caffine Cruisers a local cars and coffee gathering in Torrance, CA. Gary is the proud owner of this great wagon for 13 years. Ford Ranch Wagons were built by Ford from 1952 to 1974. All the mechanical work was done by Gary’s at his home garage. This wagon is powered by a 302 ci in, 4.9L Mustang engine topped with an Edlebrock manifold and carburetor developing around 300 HP. Transferring power through a Ford AOD (automatic overdrive) transmission. The AOD is a four-speed automatic transmission, with the 4th gear as overdrive and was Introduced in 1980. Taking that power to the rear wheels is a stock Dana 44 rear end with 4..09 gear ratio. To slow this baby down are ECU disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. A Ford dual bowl master cylinder with tandem outlets are used for controlling disc/drum braking. The interior is done in white vinyl with matching turquoise piping by Santy’s of Hawthorne, CA.
