Today truck I am guessing is a 1947 Willys Jeep 4X4 that was used by the US Forest Service that was located in Crest Ridge, OR. This is a street spot that is finished in Emerald Green with Black wheels and an black interior along with black vinyl removable top and doors. It is powered by a “Go Devil” 60 hp, 134.2 cu in, 2.2 liter. 4 cylinder L-Head with a Carter 1-bbl downdraft carburetor. Transferring that power through a Borg-Warner T-90 manual 3 speed transmission and transferring that through a Dana 18 transfer case to the front (Dana 25) and rear (Dana 41) axles with a 5.38:1 gear ratio. Slowing this work horse down would be 9 inch drum brakes in all four corners. This one looks to have disc brakes up front. The front suspension is a full floating axle with longitudinal 8 leaves semi-elliptical springs and in the rear is a semi-floating axle with longitudinal 9 leaves semi-elliptical springs.
The 1945 Willys Jeep was the world’s first mass-produced civilian four wheel drive four-wheel drive car. The original MSRP was $1,241.00. Top speed was 68 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 21.7 seconds. The total production for CJ-2A (1945-1949) was 214,760. This is a nice truck for any CJ-2A or Willys Jeep events.
