Today’s car is the 1951 Willys Jeepster owned by Chad Litvin painted Porsche India Red. The interior is Tan with Red Piping and it has a Tan boot and Tan a convertible top. I saw this car at Caffein Cruisers Cars & Coffee in Torrance, CA. It is powered by a Ford 302 cu in, 5.0 liter, V8, producing 335 hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed automatic transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through Ford 9 inch rear end with 355:1 gears. Slowing this baby down are hydraulic disc brakes up front and drum brakes in the rear. The front suspension is a Mustang II setup and in the rear is are semi-elliptical springs.
The original MSRP was $1,765.00. The total number of Willys Jeepster’s built was 19,132. Over the three model years: 1948 – 10,326, 1949 – 2,960, and 1950 – 5,836 and some leftover models were sold under the 19651 Model year. This is a great car for car shows, and Cars and Coffee events, or just cruising around the beach in style. Thanks for riding along. Frank
