Today’s car is a 1962 Dodge Dart 330, B series, 2 door sedan. The owner of this car is Chuck Mills. It is finished in Polar White with a Red interior. It is powered by a non-original 440 cu in, 7.2 liter V8, with a Edlebrock 4-bbl carburetor, producing an estimated 350 plus hp. Power is sent to the rear wheels through a three-speed push button controlled TorqueFlite automatic transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.55 to 1 gear ratio. Slowing this baby down are self-adjusting Bendix drum brakes. The front suspension is independent using upper and lower control arms with ball joints and torsion bars. In the rear are asymmetrical leaf springs. Oriflow shock absorbers all around were original equipment. Oriflow shock absorbers were the first shocks to automatically adjust themselves for rough or smooth roads. The original MSRP was $2,373.00. The total number of 1962 Dodges produced was 230,132 of which 136,088 were Dodge Darts.
I saw this car at Caffeine Cruisers in Torrance that meets every Saturday morning from 7-9 AM. It is located South East corner of Artesia Blvd and Hawthorne Blvd.
What a great looking car to have some fun in. This car is ready for car shows, Cars and Coffee gatherings, and a cruise up and down the boulevard on Friday nights. Thanks for riding along. Frank
