Today’s truck is a 1941 Chevrolet Cab Over Engine (COE) licensed as a 1946. This truck belongs to Jon Wulf and Eva Adler. I saw this truck at the Marina del Rey Cars and Coffee that meets every Sunday at the Waterside Shopping Center.. It is finished in classic Rat Rod patina and topped with clear coat. It is powered by 5.3 Liter LS engine that was transplanted from a Chevrolet Suburban. The engine management system is a Fitech stand alone self-learning ECU with transmission control. The GM transmission is a 4 speed with overdrive 4L60E. Delivering that power to the Ford 9 inch rear end with 3.55 gears. The chassis work and fabrication were created by Jose Delgadillo and Owen Twomey. The chassis is from a late model Chevy S10 with disc brakes in the front and drums in the rear. The suspension is managed by Airlift Performance using air bags from Slam Specialties and the shocks from Ridetech. The suspension system is digitally controlled using Bluetooth technology and Jon’s smart phone. The exhaust is by Hot Head Headers and the mufflers are by Black Widow and are none other than the “Neighbor Hater” series!
While Jon and Eva enjoy their truck. That is just part of the fun. Taking the truck and pulling their vintage trailer (A Corvette) is the frosting on the cake. They also belong to the Car Club Los Perdidos CC that gives them another reason to enjoy their ride.
This is a great truck that they found on one of their camping trips and revived it to its current state. What an undertaking. While projects like this are never finished it is great to see them enjoying their hobbies. I hope to see them soon on our travels around Southern California. Thanks for riding along. Frank
