Today’s cars is a 1954 Chevrolet Corvette and It is owned by Kip Cyprus. I saw this car at The Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum it was display for the Evolution of the Corvette that displayed all 8 generations of Corvettes. The C1 is the first generation Corvette that was in production from 1953 to 1962.
It is finished in Polo White with a Red interior, a Beige convertible top and Red Wheels. It is powered by a 235 cu in, 3.85 liter in-line 6 cylinder engine with 3 Carter side draft carburetors producing 150 hp. Transferring that power through a 2 speed Powerglide automatic transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.55 to 1 rear end gear ratio. Helping slow this baby down are 4 Hydraulic brakes with 11″ drums. The front suspension is knee action with ride stabilizer. and the rear is semi-elliptical springs, both with direct double acting shock absorbers. This year they offered 3 more colors other than Polo White (qty 3230). They are Pennant Blue (qty 300), Sportsman Red (qty 100), and Black (qty 4).
The original base MSRP was $2,774.00. They were all delivered with all the options, which brought the price up to $3,345.50. The total number of 1954 corvettes produced was 3640. This is a beautiful restored car that could hold its own at any Corvette show. Thanks for traveling along. Frank
