1966 Corvette Convertible

Today’s car is a 1966 Corvette Convertible done in Nassau Blue.  Thanks to Al Peña for sharing Morley car.  
So Al’s story starts with  “Hold an English Car gathering and somebody will be contrary.  Are friend Morley showed up to our monthly get together at Golden Cove with his 1966 Corvette (C2) Sting Ray (in Nassau Blue) with a Big Block 427. (In fairness, Morley’s wife drove one of their Jaguars.).
I like to call Golden Cove a mostly British car show.  I know a few others who show up in Packards, Corvettes, Thunderbirds, Mustangs, and Cougars.  And in all fairness these cars do speak english!

The Stinger hood graces either of the 427 ci engines in the 1966 and 1967 Corvettes.  The 427 ci big-block V8 came in two forms: 390 bhp with 10.25:1 compression, and 425 bhp with 11:1 compression, larger intake valves, a bigger Holley four-barrel carburetor on a free flowing aluminum manifold with mechanical lifters.  
The Sting Ray’s interior carried a re-interpretation of the twin-cowl Corvette dash motif used since 1958, but a more practical one incorporating a roomy glovebox, an improved heater, and the cowl-ventilation system. A full set of round gauges included a huge speedometer and tachometer.
