1957 Continental MARK II

Last updated on January 23, 2023

Todays car is a 1957 Continental Mark II finished in white with a deep red interior. It was powered with the standard Lincoln 368 cu in (6.0 L) V8 producing 300 hp topped with a 390 cfm four-barrel Holley 4000 carburetor transferring that power through a 3- speed Turbo-Drive automatic transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.07 t0 1 gear ratio.

The first Continental that debuted was the 1956 Mark II and it became one of the most influential designs of the decade,  I had a model car the Continental Mark II and thought is was most beautiful cars I had ever seen. My favorite feature was the built in continental kit into the trunk lid.

How did I know this was a 1957 and not a 1956 you ask, Well there were only 3 differences: 4 metallic colors were added, the engine horsepower was increased from 285 hp to 300 hp, and the air conditioning external scoops on top the rear fenders vents were relocated to the the air conditioning air ducting behind the grille. Yes that was it no air conditioning external scoops on top the rear fenders

This is a really beautiful car, very clean and ready for a cruise.
