Today’s car is a 1990 Camaro IROC – Z done in Yellow Gold. The 1990s IROC-Z were powered by either a 5.0-liter V-8 or a 5.7-liter V-8. Both engine were variations on Chevy’s long-running small-block design. The base 5.0-liter mill put out 210 horsepower at 4,400 rpm and 285 foot-pounds of torque at 3,200 rpm. Opting for the optional G92 performance package bumped peak horsepower to 230 and peak torque to an even 300.
Smoky burnouts and tire-screeching power-slides were what the IROC-Z was all about. With the 5.7-liter engine 0 to 60 mph in 5.9 seconds. With the smaller engine, it took 6.5 seconds.
Nice driver. Thanks for riding along. Frank
