Today’s car is a 1976 Jensen Interceptor Convertible done in triple Black. This car is owned by Sandy Bettelman who is the only the second owner. The Jensen Interceptor is considered a Grand Touring car. It is powered by a Chrysler 440 Wedge, 7.2 L, producing 280 HP transferring that power through a 3-speed TorqueFlite automatic transmission driving the rear wheels through a limited slip differential in a conventional Salisbury rear axle with a 3.07:1 gear ratio. In 1976 only 52 convertibles were produced. The list price was $24,812.00. It came with power steering and front and rear Girling disc brakes as standard equipment.
Talk about something different and very scarce. Sandy has the original TYRENFIRE which is a multi purpose Tyre Inflator. It is a combination tyre inflator and fire extinguisher. It is Jensen Interceptor accessory that was fitted in the right side of the boot. Made in England in the 1970s. Supplied to Jensen Motors by East London Hydraulics LTD.
This is a very nice car and has treated Sandy very well for the last 33 years. Thanks for riding along. Frank
