Todays vehicle is a 1966 Volkswagen Bus. This is a street spot that I saw on the streets in Santa Ynez. It is finished in a two tone combination of Dove Blue and Pearl White with a matching interior. It is powered by a 1500 cc engine that developing 53 hp and transferring that power through 4-speed manual transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 4.26 t0 1 gear ratio Slowing it down are drum brakes all around. The Volkswagen Type 2 21-Window Samba Bus was produced from 1951–67 and the total number produced is 101,829 of which in 1966 the production was 18,790. The original MSRP was $2,577.00. A restored or resto-modded examples can sell for as much as $100,000 today!
This 21 window looks like it is used daily and going strong. This is a good canditate for car shows, Cars and Coffee get togethers or just hauling some surf boards to the beach. Thanks for riding along. Frank
