1966 Chevrolet C10 Pickup

Last updated on January 19, 2025

Today’s vehicle is a 1966 Chevrolet C10 Fleetside Custom pickup owned by Pat Irvine. I photographed this truck at The Marina del Rey Cars and Coffee located at 4724 1/2 Admiralty Way, Marina Del Rey, CA. The truck is finished in two-tone combination of light green and off white with a medium fawn interior, saddle leather seats and tan carpets. It is powered by a 452 hp, 6.0 liter, LS364 crate engine, with FiTech fuel injection EFI mated to a GM TH700R4 four-speed overdrive automatic transmission with 3.70:1 rear axle. Slowing this beauty down are disc brakes in all 4-corners. The independent front suspension and the rear suspension have replaced the coil springs with an air bag system that is operated through an app on Pat’s mobile phone. The truck has a nice stance wearing the 20″ John R’s Detroit steel wheels, beauty rings, and dog dish hubcaps.

The Chevrolet C10 first generation was built from 1960 – 1966 with a total estimated of 1 million units built. The total number of 1966 C10 Short beds produced was 140,658 units of those 57,386 were fleetside. The MSRP was $ 2066.00.

The 1966 C10’s came with these standard features: 2-Speed windshield wipers, backup lamps, seat belts, and dual long arm mirrors. Additional available options were: oil bath air cleaner, heavy-duty battery, front bumper in chrome, rear bumper in either white or chrome, 42-amp & 52-amp Delcotron alternators, AM radio, foam seat, heavy-duty front and rear shocks, power steering, air conditioning, deluxe heater, thrift-air heater, tinted windshield and more. The 1966 C10 was first available with a 327 cu in V8 engine, before 1966, the only V-8 engine option was the 283 cu in V8.

What a great Truck to take to GM shows, Cars and Coffee events or just a cruising around town.. Thanks for riding a long. Thank you for riding along. Frank
