It is powered by a 327 cu in Ramjet Fuel Injected engine producing 375 hp. Transferring that power through a 4-speed manual transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through a fully independent rear suspension. Of 23,562 Corvettes built in 1965 there were 8,186 coupes and 15,376 convertibles, Only 771 were built with Ram Jet mechanical fuel injection. 21,107 of the 23,562 cars were built 4 – speed transmissions. To help slow this beauty down are 11.75″ disc brakes at all four wheels. The base price in 1965 was $4106.00. Adding the fuel injection option added $538.00. The wheels are the optional aluminum knock-offs. What a great car for cruising and going to Cars and Coffee just like the picture.
