Today’s car 1964 Chevelle Malibu SS 2 door hardtop done in butternut yellow with a touch of pearl mixed in. This car is owned by Bill and Jan, but make no mistake this is Jan’s car. They bought the car with 65,000 original miles on the odometer and are the third owners. I walk past Bill and Jan’s house almost everyday and can see it in the garage when the garage door is open. I was lucky to get pictures of this car when Bill drove it to Marina del Rey’s Cars and Coffee. This gave me the opportunity to take some nice shots of this very clean mildly customize Chevelle.
It is powered by 355 ci Small Block Chevy transferring the power through a 4 speed 200 r4 overdrive transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through a positraction differential with a 3.73:1 gear ratio. It has an air ride suspension, 17″ billet specialities wheels, and 2″ cowl hood. The interior is done in custom black with suede inserts. The OG Bucket seats and custom center consel help set the car apart from all the others.
A interesting fact about 1964 Chevelles. After a four-year absence theĀ El Camino was reintroduced as part of the new Chevelle lineup. Thanks for riding along. Frank
