Todays car is a 1964 Buick Wildcat Convertible that is finished in Arctic White with a Fawn interior and a Tan convertible top and boot. This was a street spot in Playa Del Rey, CA. It is powered by a 401 cu in. 6.6 liter, Nailhead V8 engine producing 325 hp and transferring that power through a 3 speed automatic transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through the Wildcat standard rear end gear ratio of 3.42 to 1. For those who wanted to go drag racing there was an optional 4.45 to 1 rear end available with the optional posi-track. The suspension included coil springs on all four corners and link stabilizer bar and a semi-floating rear axle that used a three-bar link with a track bar. To help slow this massive 4,500 pounds of Wildcat down were oversized 10-inch power drum brakes. The 0 to 60 mph time was 8.9 seconds and a top speed of 113 mph. The MSRP was $3,927.00. Wildcats were built from 1963 to 1970. Very nice cruiser.
Thanks for riding along. Frank
