Today’s car is a 1964 Alfa Romeo Giulietta 1600 Sprint Speciale. It is finished in Black with a Black interior. I saw this car at the French / Italian car show at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, CA on November 7th, 2021. It is powered by a 95.6 cu in, 1.57 liter, DOHC in-line 4 cylinder engine with 2 2bbl Weber 40 DOCE2 carburetors producing 110 hp and transferring that power through a 5 speed manual transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 4.1 to 1 gear ratio. Helping slow this baby down are three-shoe drum brakes at front wheels and drum brakes at the rear. Suspension is Independent Front – Live Rear Axle.
The total number of 1964 Alfa Romeo’s produced was 65,193 and the total number of Giulietta 1600 Sprint Speciale produced was 1400. The estimated top speed is 107 mph and a 0 to 60 mph at 9.6 seconds. I need to add just a small disclaimer, if you have ever been at Woodley Park for a car show you know it can be a dustbowl and impossible to keep your car clean, especially the color black. The paint on this car is fantastic what you are seeing is the local dust. This is a beautiful car that has appreciated nicely over the years. This car will be a star at the next local Cars and Coffee and car shows. Thanks for riding along. Frank
