Todays car is 1962 Austin Healey 3000 MK II 2 + 2 finished in Colorado Red with a black interior with red beading. This stock looking Austin Healey is owned by Dave Beugen. Dave bought this car 5 years ago and it was already converted to a Chevrolet v8 and drivetrain. It is powered a 350 cu in Chevrolet small block (SB) delivering 355 hp, breathing through a 625 cc Carter Carburetor, mounted on top of an Edelbrock Performer Manifold, with a Crane 260 cam, and giving it spark through a HEI distributor with a Pertronix Electronic Ignition. Transferring that power through a 700R4 4 – speed automatic transmission with overdrive and delivering that power to the rear wheels through Dana 3.50 to 1 gear ratio rear end. It has 72 spoke wire wheels. It is cooled with a 6 core radiator and pulling air through it with a Spal fan. With this Chevrolet 350 engine it weighs about 100 pounds less than the original engine and drivetrain.

This car is like having the best of both worlds. Great looking British car with the get up and go of a Chevy SB engine and drivetrain combination. With this combination you could do 80 mph at 2500 rpms all day long. Great car and very nice cruiser. It gets plenty of attention at car shows and Cars and Coffee get togethers.

Thanks for riding along. Frank
