Today’s car is a 1960 Corvette Convertible. It is a street spot and is owned by the guy with all the cars who lives up the street. After a year of photographing his cars it looks like he maybe gone forever? The house is empty and it looks like they are getting it ready to flip it. I was hoping to see his collection and actually put a name to the guy with all the cars.
It is finished in Roman Red and Ermine White Coves with a Red interior and a White vinyl convertible top. It is powered by 283 cu in, 4.6 liter, with a Carter 4bbl carburetor this V8 engine produces 245 hp. Transferring that power through a 4 speed manual transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.55 to 1 Positraction rear end. Slow it down are hydraulic 11-inch diameter drum brakes all around. The front suspension is unequal-length control arms with ball joints and in the rear is a live axle on semi-elliptic leaf springs,
The original MSRP was $3,872.00. The total number of 1960 Corvettes produced was 10,261. This is a great original car. Great for Cars and Coffee, Corvette and GM Car Shows or just cruising up and down the coast. Top down of coarse. Thanks for riding along. Frank
