Today’s car is a 1960 Cadillac Eldorado Biarritz Convertible owned by Melanie & Randy Hane. They bought the car on January 27th, 2005 on their wedding anniversary from Robert Millian, as is with 55,000 miles, in Waltham Massachusetts. I photographed this car at well …. in Von’s parking lot and at Brooksdale Senior Living in Torrance, CA and at Cruise at the Beach located at Redondo Beach, CA. It is finished in Pompeian Red with a Black Cardiff leather Interior, a white convertible top, and Pompeian Red parade boot. It is powered by a 325 hp, 390 cu in, V8 engine, with 3-2 bbl Rochester carburetors mated to a 4- speed Hydra-matic automatic transmission with 3.21:1 rear axle. Slowing this beauty down are power drum brakes in all 4-corners. It has independent front suspension with dual A-arms with coil springs and the rear suspension is a 4 link system with coil springs. Just in case you were wondering, there are 74 “bullets” in the front grille, and 32 in the rear grill! Go ahead count them!
The total number 0f Cadillacs produced was 142,184 with 2,461 of them being Eldorado’s and of those 1,285 were convertibles with approximately 100 of those with the rare bucket seat option. The MSRP was $7,401.00. it has a published top speed of 127 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 10.4 seconds. This is a beautiful example of an original car. What a great car to take to GM / Cadillac car shows, Cars and Coffee events or some gala event. Thank you for riding along. Frank
