Today car is this original looking survivor. A 1957 Oldsmobile Golden Rocket 88 2 door sedan that is finished in Alcan White and Juneau Gray. The trim and wheels are finished in Festival Red. This street spot has been on our street for many years. It is powered by a 371 cu in, 6.1 liter, Rochester four-barrel carburetor, V8 cylinder, engine producing 277 hp and transferring that power through a 3 – speed manual transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 3.64 t0 1 rear end gear ratio. Slowing it down are four wheel 11 inch hydraulic drums. The front suspension is independent with coil springs and in the rear is a live axle with longitudinal leaf springs. The original MSRP: Base Price $2,685.00. The total number of 1957 Oldsmobile produced was 384,390 of which 3611 were 2 door sedans. Top Speed is estimated 115 mph and 0 – 60 time is estimated at 9.1 seconds. It does get moved occasionly.
This is a great example of an original survivor that needs a lot of TLC. Thanks for riding along. Frank
