Todays car is a 1957 Mercedes-Benz 300 SL-(E) Electric and is finished in Silver DB-180. This car is owned by Mike G. Well we are not sure about the title. The 300 SL-(E) is powered by a battery that looks like it needs replacing and a lot more. The interior needs a complete re-do. The tires are a little hard and losing thread. A complete paint job and bright work are also required. This car was found on the curb abandon by Mike’s good friend Susan R. in Long Beach. Susan called her husband Steve for back up to help retrieve the car for Mike. Once delivered to Mike, a rather lengthy assessment was made. It is not worth a total restoration back to its original charm and grace, But it would make a nice garage ornament maybe with a turquoise rattle can paint job to match his beautiful 1960 280SE or just leave in its well worn patina?
This one is not a tough call. Project car or not? Not! The fanatic in me said rattle can paint job! The practical me says leave it alone. This car will not to be seen on Bring A Trailer (BAT).
