Todays car is a 1957 Chevrolet Convertible finished in Larkspur Blue with a Irory vinyl convertible top. The interior is done in light green vinyl and dark green pattern vinyl. The 1957 was the first year that Chevy ever offered a fuel injection engine as an option for $550.00. It was a 283 cu in V-8 rated at 250 horsepower with Duntov cam, solid lifters and fuel injection. Transferring that power through a 2-speed Powerglide transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through solid axle with 3.36 t0 1 gear ratio. The 0 to 60 mph time was 9.9 sec estimated. This car is also equipped with power steering and power brakes. While there was 47,562 convertibles built there were only 68 with fuel injection.
This car is owned by Morley and Erika Mendelson. Erika drove the 57 and Morley drove the 1966 Corvette barely visible in the third photo down. The Corvette was featured on my March 3rd post.
Beautiful original / restored car and it is very rare. Ready for the car show circuit and Cars and Coffee.
