1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Cabriolet

Today’s car is one of one, a 1949 Talbot-Lago T26 Grand Sport Cabriolet finished in metallic blue with black leather, convertible top and boot. I saw this car at the French / Italian car show at Woodley Park in Van Nuys, CA on November 7th. It is powered by a 273.5 cu in, 4.5 liter, DOHC, in-line six with 3 Zenith-Stromberg carburetors, producing 194hp. The power is sent to the rear wheels through a 4-speed Wilson preselector gearbox. The car features independent front suspension with a transverse leaf spring and rear suspension with a live-axle and semi-elliptic leaf springs. Four massive drum brakes help slow it down from an estimated top speed of 125mph.

This is a very rare and unique car and would be a great car to drive in one of the many historic driving events, such as the Mille Miglia and California Mille. Thanks for riding along. Frank
