Last updated on September 24, 2021

Today’s car is a 1940 Studebaker Champion Coupe. It is finished in Champion Maroon with a little Patina with a Steel Grey Tweed interior. The owner of this car are Joe and Diane Chandlee. I saw this car at Cruise at the Beach Redondo Beach, CA It is powered by a 204 cu in, 3.3 liter Buick V6 engine producing 160 hp and transferring that power through a 3 – speed TH350 automatic transmission. Delivering that power to the rear wheels through Chevy S10 2.8 t0 1 rear end. Helping slow it down are Disc brakes in the front and Drum in the rear. The front suspension is a Mustang II setup. The original MSRP for a standard business coupe was $660.00 The total number of 1940 Studebaker produced was 107,185 of which 66,264 were Champions and 3,905 were coupes.

Great car for a Friday night cruise or cars and coffee on the weekend mornings. Thanks for traveling along. Frank
