Today’s car is a 1939 Lincoln Zephyr Coupe that is finished in Black with Grey cloth interior. This car looks to be customized. From my observations the car is lowered, the interior has been modified, it has an automatic transmission, the bright headlight dimmer switch has been relocated and I think that air-conditioning has been added. I saw this car at the Culver City Car Show on October 2nd.
If this car was original it would be powered by a 267.3 cu in, 4.4 liter, V12 engine producing 110 hp and transferring that power through a 3 speed manual transmission (check out the gear shift lever). Delivering that power to the rear wheels through 4.11 t0 1 rear end gear ratio. To slow it down, are 4 wheel Hydraulic brakes that were introduced in 1939. The suspension was transverse springs front and rear, The original MSRP was $1,325.00. The total number of 1939 Lincoln Zephyr’s produced was 22,711 of which 2,500 were 2 door coupes. It had a top speed of 90 mph.
I love the lines of this car. Great car for the rounds of coffee and cars and car shows. Thanks for traveling along. Frank
