Today’s car is a 1938 Chrysler Royal 5 window Business Coupe that is finished in Parrot Blue with a grey cloth interior. It is powered by a 95 hp, 241.5 cu in, inline 6 with a Carter 1-bbl downdraft carburetor, mated to a 3-speed manual transmission and 3.91:1 rear end. Slowing this baby down are Chrysler hydraulic 11 inch drum brakes. The front suspension is independent coil (Amola) steel springs with an anti sway bar and the rear suspension is semi-floating axle with longitudinal semi-elliptical (Amola) steel leaf springs. The shock absorbers are hydraulic double acting aero-type located in both front and rear.
The total production numbers for a 1938 Chrysler Royal business coupe was 4,840. The MSRP was $918.00. This is a very nicely restored car that are rarely seen today. This car will get a great amount of attention at Chrysler-Mopar event, Cars and Coffee events or just cruising down to a local hamburger joint for lunch. I want to thank Ross Urquhart for pointing me in the right direction on this one. Thanks for riding along. Frank
