Today’s car is a 1937 Lincoln Zephyr 2 door coupe 3 passenger, owned by Bob Logan purchased it on December 6th, 2022 and it was delivered on December 21st, winter solstice. I photographed this car at Net Cruz Cars and Coffee held at The Zimmerman Automobile Driving Museum located in El Segundo, CA. It is finished in Black with a Beige Bedford Cord Interior. It is powered by a 110 hp, 4.4 liter, V12 engine, with a Stromberg dual downdraft carburetor. Mated to a 3-speed manual transmission with 4.44:1 rear axle. Slowing this beauty down are 12″ drum mechanical brakes. The front and rear suspension are solid axles with transverse leaf springs.
The Lincoln Zephyrs were built from 1936 – 1942 with a total 0f 29,997 produced in 1937, of which 5,199 were coupes. The coupe MSRP was $1,165.00. The published top speed of 90 mph with a 0-60 mph time of 14.0 seconds.
I have always liked the sleek looks of the Lincoln Zephyr 3 window coupes with the long lines, tear drop headlights and fender skirts. It is like if you wanted to customize it all you have to do is bag it to make it a tail dragger and your done. I personally would leave this original car just as it is. This is a beautiful example of restored original car from the post war era. What a great car to take to car shows, Cars and Coffee events or just taking a cruise with like minded friends, Thanks for riding along. Frank
