Today’s truck is a 1936 Ford Pickup Truck owned by Scott Allan. I saw this truck at the 20th Annual San Juan Capistrano Classic Car Show held by their local Rotary Club. It is finished in light tan with a matching Interior accented with chocolate brown carpets and mats. It is powered by a 350 cu in, small block Chevrolet V8, with a 4-bbl carburetor. Mated to a GM TH350 3-speed automatic transmission and transferring that power to the chrome American Racing wheels through a Ford 8 inch rear end. Slowing this baby down are disc in the front and drums in the rear. It has independent front suspension sourced from a Camaro with dual A-arms with coil springs and the rear suspension is solid axle with longitudinal semi-elliptical leaf springs.
The Total of 1936 Ford production was 930,778 units with 67,163 being pickups and of those 2,570 were Deluxe. The MSRP was $480.00. The published top speed 65 mph. This is a beautiful example of customized 1936 Ford Pickup. What a great truck to take to car shows, Cars and Coffee events or just a cruising around town windows up and air conditioning on. Thanks for riding along. Frank
