Today’s car is a 1932 Ford Roadster Highboy owned by Sam Maus. It is finished in Black with beautiful flames accenting the car with a complimentary Red and Black interior. I saw this car at the Endless Summer Car Show held in Hermosa Beach, CA. It is powered by a Chevrolet 283 cu in stroker with 317 cu in, this V8 has 2 – Edelbrock 4-bbl carburetors, and can produce as much as 315 hp. Transferring that power to the rear wheels through a built GM Turbo 350 3-speed automatic transmission and delivering that power to the rear wheels through 4.11:1 rear end. Helping slow this baby down are 11 inch disc brakes all around. The front suspension is a solid I-beam axle with a 5 inch drop that was plated, augmented with a 1932 Ford reverse-eye transverse leaf spring and a 4-tube system to help stabilize things. In the rear is Ford 9 inch rear end with coil over springs. Up front wearing Pirelli 15 inch tires mounted on Gasser E-T Wheels and in the rear wearing BF Goodrich 16 inch tires on Fueler E-T wheels
This is a beautiful example of what a 1932 Highboy should look like. Built to show and going to car shows in style. Thanks for riding along. Frank
